For instance, you do not need to carry bulky, leaking tubes of liquid vulcanizing glue on your rides. Instead, the self-adhesive patches rely on advanced sticky backing engineered in collaboration with 3M. Consequently, these smart patches stretch, flex, twist, and turn dynamically right along with the inner tube. Therefore, the seal remains completely airtight even when the tube expands and deforms under high riding pressure.
Simple Three-Step Repair Process
Getting back on the road or trail takes only a few minutes when a puncture strikes. First, you lightly roughen the area around the puncture with the included square of sandpaper. Next, you wipe the surface clean and apply the self-adhesive patch directly over the hole. Finally, you are immediately ready to reinstall the tube, reinflate your tyre, and continue riding. This streamlined process eliminates the tedious wait times required for traditional wet glues to dry.
ParkTool GP-2C Broad Tube Compatibility and Restrictions
This versatile repair system works seamlessly across a variety of modern bicycle setups. Specifically, the patches are fully compatible with standard butyl rubber tubes as well as lightweight thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) tubes. However, you should note some equipment limitations. For example, the patches are not compatible with tubeless tyre bodies or latex inner tubes. Additionally, you should consider the GP-2C a temporary fix and replace your damaged tube as soon as possible.
